Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej currently Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to score a of 10 at the Olympic contest. Bela Karalyi was introduced to Comaneci at age six. She would later be Romania's gymnastics coach. The first time she competed was at the national junior championships where she placed 13th in 1969. In 1970, she took home the title. In 1972, during the communist nations' meet for juniors before the Olympics, she took home 3 gold and silver medals. Then in 1973 and '74 she was the overall junior champion. She took home four gold medals and one silver medals in her first international competition for seniors, held in 1975. This was her first time she competed as a senior. In 1976, she was the first person in the world to use a backwards-double salto to dismount from parallel bars. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. In her teens she started appearing on traveling shows like Ice Capades as a skater along with her younger sibling Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol began her career in entertainment when she was in her teenage years. Her first job was as a figure skater performing with her twin sister Nina Wayne as part of the shows that traveled around named Ice Capades. The shows featured theatrical ice-skating performances.
