When I had a baby at my side and other children within the cradle would work 12 hour shifts cleaning floors and tear off wallpaper. Ha! We were getting closer to completing, however it was still a long distance away. The project would require time, money and my favorite shopping for furniture to decorate this home. My three sons and me searched for hidden gems while going to estate sales in order to help reduce my expenses. We had a weekly schedule that consisted of spending Friday through Saturday at estate and garage sales, purchasing new and old objects. The rest of the week sanding and painting the driveway. The furniture looked like this... and that's where I got my passion to restore. Even though our home was fully furnished, I could not put down. I had an area at the market to sell things. I was able to outgrow the area because I had plenty of pieces that I needed. The number of people who visited my home in just one weekend to purchase everything that was on the ground. Growing Days is the result of all this. Apart from my successful business, I also grew our family. In some ways, I was able to find the perfect balance between being a mum and starting my new company. Growing Days fit perfectly. Nora my fourth child was born in 2013. The direction my company was heading was great, but I was forced to get some down time. I decided to slow down and stay at home, spending time with my children. It was exactly what I needed. However, after just a couple of minutes I began to hear my phone to ring. Many people called me to ask for advice about home improvement or decorating. The majority of them had attended my house during the open houses that were held for furniture. Then I slowly took on new clients at my own speed. In the end, I had many clients and I was running an enterprise of renovations to homes. Most likely, I would have been laughing if I had been told that the venture was going to be part of a forthcoming tv program on DIY Network. It's fun to reflect to it.
